Today I'll be reviewing one of my favorite natural hair products: the Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil: Strengthen, Grow & Restore Leave-In Conditioner (w/Shea Butter, Peppermint & Keratin). This product has helped so much with managing both my natural, curly, new growth, and my weaker relaxed ends.

I purchased the bonus size (16 oz / 453 g) during the 2016 Black Friday sale for $10.99USD. The Black Friday sale provided everyone with a 30% off discount, so I was able to grab a bunch of goodies at an affordable price! The bonus size (16 oz / 453 g) lasted me about 4 months, with weekly usage.

The product is marketed toward natural, chemically processed, color treated or heat styled hair. It is sulfate free and color safe. The ingredients are very healthy and natural, and the first ingredient is water, which is always a good sign. Other ingredients include shea butter, coconut oil, glycerin, jojoba oil, macadamia oil, castor oil, keratin, and more (see full list in image below).
You know it's good when you actually recognize the ingredients!
I use this product directly after washing the conditioner out of my hair on wash days. I create 4 sections and apply liberally to each section, detangling with my fingers as I distribute the product throughout my hair. After, I further detangle using a Denman brush or wide-toothed comb.
This leave-in is very lightweight and creamy in texture. It's not heavy or sticky at all, which I love. It melts away tangles and make my hair feel soft, moisturized, and defined. Not to mention, it smells like vanilla and peppermint!
Lightweight and creamy!
I will definitely continue to repurchase this product. I'm already on my second container! It takes care of both the new growth and relaxed hair by keeping my hair moisturized and detangled. Plus Shea Moisture is a great, natural brand that is cruelty free and conscious about community commerce with the communities that supply natural resources to the marketplace.
Cruelty Free, Family Owned and Operated, Fair Trade Ingredients, and Community Commerce!
