LottaBody with Coconut & Shea Oils Moisturize Me Curl & Style Milk | Product Review

When I posted a picture of the products I ordered from Amazon.com for my birthday, many people on my Instagram wanted to see a review of this product! It's the LottaBody with Coconut & Shea Oils Moisturize Me Curl & Style Milk. LottaBody was once more well known in the relaxed hair community for their original setting lotion. In recent years, the company has added the Coconut & Shea Oils line to target both relaxed and natural hair.

I got mine on Amazon for $7.28 USD for the 8oz size, though the price varies on different websites.

Another product photoshoot on the patio feat. my at-home nail design?

The product is marketed toward all hair types, claiming to "define curls, tame frizz, and add moisture and brilliant shine". Since it's labeled as a "curl and style milk", I would say this product is a cross between a leave-in conditioner and a styler. It smells like coconut and almost a bit citrusy. It actually reminds me a lot of the smell of the Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie!

The texture is quite thick and creamy, but not sticky. I take a small amount (quarter sized?) and distribute it throughout my hair after using a leave-in conditioner. Sometimes I will mix a little bit of this product with the Eco-Beauty Eco Styler Gel to add more moisture.

That's a pretty long ingredient list...but I don't see many of the ingredients we're commonly told to avoid...

In addition to the coconut and shea oils, this product features ingredients like water, sunflower seed oil, soybean oil, avocado oil, olive oil, fruit oil, and more. One of the red flags someone mentioned on Instagram was the word "Fragrance" in the ingredients list. I've read conflicting reports on whether Fragrance is harmful to hair or not. I think it comes down to whether your hair/scalp personally has sensitivity to fragrance. I'm not entirely sure but I haven't noticed anything damaging to my hair since using.

I have noticed that it makes my braid-outs feel smoother and more hydrated for longer as opposed to when I do them without it. I would consider repurchasing!

If the Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie doesn't work for your hair, this may be a good and close alternative to try.

Overall rating: 4/5.
